Established in 1969, Classic Sheepskins is New Zealand's longest established privately owned tannery. From humble beginnings the tannery has developed its own unique manufacturing plant producing a diverse range of quality products.
Their quality policy is "To supply top quality products and service for our customers". This has been further reinforced by them achieving ISO 9001 registration in 1995, and its principles being strictly adhered to.
Through Classic's unique tanning process, skilled tanners adhering to strict quality control, turn quality raw material into superior handcrafted products made to stringent Wool Mark standards and specifications.

Windward Skins, established in 1966, is a subsidiary of PPCS which is New Zealand’s largest meat-marketing company having a combined group turnover exceeding NZ$2 billion.
As a fully-owned subsidiary, Windward has a major advantage over other tanners in that it has total control over raw skin selection. Selection is done to exacting quality standards and only unshorn lamb skins are used because they provide an untouched natural wool fibre.
Less than one in 10 skins processed is considered good enough to wear the Windward brand.
The company has been continually improving the tanning process since 1966 and currently consists of 60 stages. The result is a supple, full leather and a soft wool which is extremely stable to temperature and light.
