Before shopping in our on-line sheepskin store, please ensure the correct currency is selected as this determines which shipping countries are available to you at the checkout.
Of the seven currencies, the selected one can be seen at the very top of the page. This may already have been changed automatically to match with your location but if you need to change it, click the 'Select Currency' link also at the top of the page.
For your convenience we bill your credit card in the currency you select so you know exactly how much we will charge you. (Note that we have heard that some banks in the US make a separate transaction fee for purchases originating from overseas even when the amount billed is in US dollars. This typically may be up to around 3% of the total billed but you may wish to check with your bank first).
You can change the currency even with items in your shopping cart.
As our international prices are inclusive of Air Mail postage, each currency has a limited list of ship to countries available for selection. US dollar currency includes Air Mail postage to the USA, Canada and Asia. For delivery to mainland Europe, Euros must be selected, and for the UK you must select UK Pounds. Selection of New Zealand dollars and Australian dollars are reserved for orders being dispatched to New Zealand and Australia respectively. For a list of countries we ship to, see shipping info.
Select a category to browse from the home page or from the vertical or horizontal menus. The category pages describe each product and show prices in the selected currency. Most product images can be clicked to see a larger photo and additional information.
For products whose price varies, such as with footwear or rug size, only the lowest price is shown in the product's description. For a full list of prices for each size, see the drop-down list of sizes, etc.
When you have selected an item you wish to purchase, enter the quantity required, select any product options such as size and click:
A confirmation window will appear from which you can continue shopping for additional items or go straight to the Checkout. Note that this confirmation may not display on some web browsers, you should however still see the 'My Cart' summary change (top right of page).
Live Inventory Status
Although we aim to keep all stock items in stock all the time, we can sometimes be temporarily out of stock of an item if there is an overwhelming demand during our busiest few months or delay with supply.
You can instantly check our current stock availability. For each product entry there's a status message such as:
For items with product options such as footwear, clicking on the drop down list box of sizes instantly shows which sizes/colors are in stock or when they are expected back in stock.
You can still order an item that is out of stock, we will automatically back-order the entire order until it is available.
A running total of the number of items and total value of your Shopping Cart (in your selected currency) are displayed at the top right of each page. To see your cart contents in detail, click 'My Cart' or the small cart icon.
On the Shopping Cart page you can amend order quantities and purchase a Gift Card if required.
If your order doesn't meet the required minimum order level, eg. $35 for US dollars, you will receive a warning message giving you the option to continue shopping for further items or pay a below minimum order surcharge.
For details see select currency.
After reviewing your shopping cart contents, you can either return to shop for further items or continue to the checkout.
To keep track of items in your shopping cart, our website uses "cookies". Most browsers accept and maintain cookies by default so you are unlikely to have to make any changes.
The first page in the checkout process allows previous customers to retrieve their details by logging in using their e-mail address and password. New customers should enter just their e-mail address where indicated. After clicking the Continue button, the remainder of the checkout form will appear. Note that there can only be one account per e-mail address. If you have ordered before and cannot remember your password, use the Forgot Password? link on the checkout page.
If the shipping details are the same as the billing details, you can use the Copy Billing Details Down button to save entering the details twice.
Gift message / Special Instructions
If you purchase a gift card, we will print the text you enter in the Gift Message field in the card. If you haven't purchased a gift card we can still print a gift message on the packing slip enclosed with the order at no additional cost.
Hide pricing / Delivery message
If you select the 'Hide pricing on order paperwork', we will send a Packing Slip inside the parcel instead of an Invoice. Note that for orders over 2Kg, an invoice will still be enclosed in a pouch on the outside of the package as a Customs requirement. All packages have a Customs declaration stating the contents and value in New Zealand dollars (or UK Pounds for UK orders).
Additional fields are provided for a short delivery message to be printed on the shipping label and any special instructions for us.
All orders must be paid by credit card, we accept Visa and Mastercard. Credit card details are entering at the next stage of the checkout process. For your security we use GeoTrust's state-of-the-art SSL encryption offering up to 256-bit encryption and MaxMind Fraud Detection service.
Final checkout stage
New customers must select a password so that their details can be retrieved in future. Note that for security reasons this does NOT include credit card details which are promptly deleted from our web server.
After clicking the Continue Checkout button, your full order details are displayed. Check the order details are correct and if not, click on any of the Edit buttons to return to the previous page where any corrections can be made. Pay particular attention to checking the shipping address as we can't be held responsible for loss of your parcel if an incorrect address has been provided. To finalise your order, enter your credit card details and click the Confirm button to finalise the transaction.
The next screen to be displayed confirms your order was recorded and a confirmation e-mail is sent to you. This page quotes your Order ID, you should note this down and quote it in any correspondence to us regarding your order.
If you don't receive an e-mail from us within an hour, you should check your junk mail folder and if still not found, e-mail us quoting the Order ID.
General Ordering Information
Most items are kept in stock and are usually dispatched from here in New Zealand within one working day. Other products that take longer to dispatch are marked accordingly with usual dispatch times. You will be notified by e-mail when your order has been dispatched or if any prolonged delay is expected.
For stock items, you can instantly check our current stock availability. See the inventory status message shown for each product. For footwear items, the Size/Color drop down list shows exactly which sizes/colors are in stock or when they are expected if out of stock.
We offer billing in seven different currencies. For each currency there is an associated list of ship to countries available to select from at the checkout. Our US dollar prices include Air Mail postage to the USA, Canada and Asia. For orders being shipped to Europe there is an increase in price to cover the additional Air Mail postage cost. Therefore for orders going to mainland Europe, Euros must be selected. Due to us including all UK Customs charges in our UK prices, all orders being shipped to the UK must be paid in UK pounds. For orders to New Zealand and Australia, NZ$ or AU$ must be selected respectively.
The UK has always been the worst country we ship to for Customs charges so we are delighted to be able to pre-pay all UK Customs charges including import VAT. For additional information specific to the United Kingdom, see our UK Customs Info page or Kiwi Sheepskins UK.
Other countries, particularly mainland Europe and Canada, may charge you a Customs duty/charge and/or local tax. These, plus any charge made by the postal or Customs service for their collection, are the responsibility of the recipient and cannot be pre-paid. Unless you are ordering in wholesale quantities or to a high value, the USA doesn't normally charge Customs duties or local taxes. If you are unsure, we suggest you check with your local Customs department.
To enable us to offer you the lowest prices and include Air Mail delivery (courier delivery for New Zealand), we require orders total at least the minimum stated below the 'My Cart' box on the top right of each page. For US dollar pricing it is $35, others vary.
If your order doesn't meet the minimum order level, we charge a Below Minimum Order Surcharge. For US dollars the maximum surcharge is $8.00. If the amount required to bring the order up to the minimum level is less than the surcharge, we just charge that amount. For example, if your order comes to $34.00, we would charge a $1 surcharge. The surcharge amount payable, if any, is displayed on the Shopping Cart page. For surcharge amounts see select currency.
Order changes or cancellation
For regular stock items we will happily allow you to change or cancel an order up to its dispatch. For special order items, if the manufacturer has started work on your order, we will not be able to accept an order change or cancellation. We don't charge the credit card until the time of shipping. To request a change to an order or a cancellation, e-mail us on email@example.com quoting your Order ID.
Footwear and Rug Coloring/Texture
Please note that the color of our footwear and rugs may differ from the color depicted on our website. As sheepskin is a natural product, each skin can vary slightly in color and texture, additionally the exact color shown on a computer display can vary from monitor to monitor.
Note that natural white sheepskins can gradually yellow with age. This occurs naturally and cannot be reversed.
As sheepskin is a natural product there may be some irregularities and variations in texture and color. These traits are characteristic of fine sheepskin and add to the character and beauty of genuine sheepskin products.
Note that the outer side of black color sheepskin used for our boots may be a charcoal grey and not true black. Also note that for darker colors of sheepskin footwear, especially black, dye transfer may occur during the first few wears and during washing.
Credit Card Payment
All orders placed on our website must be paid by the credit card holder. We accept Visa and Mastercard only. They are accepted with the following conditions:
The order billing name and address must match the details held by your credit card company.
In certain circumstances we may ask you to provide us with additional information regarding the credit card.
We reserve the right to refuse orders where we can't verify sufficient details against risk of possible fraud.
NOTE: We screen diligently for credit card fraud and pursue fraudulent orders to the full extent of the law. Some countries are not included on our checkout page due to a high percentage of fraud reported by the banks.
We will not charge to your card until your order is being shipped. The credit card will be charged in the currency you select. If your credit card account is not billed in this currency, your credit card company will simply charge the equivalent amount in your local currency.
Companies often describe wool or synthetic fiber products as "sheepskin". Apart from our wool-lined Slipper Socks (that still feature genuine sheepskin innersoles), all footwear items we sell are made entirely from genuine New Zealand or Australian sheepskin.
When comparing our sheepskin boots and slippers with others, check that the whole of the uppers and insole are made from 100% genuine quality sheepskin. You may find cheaper inferior products but you are unlikely to find lower priced equivalent products with an outstanding service (and Air Mail delivery included!).
